Danielle Nicholls

I have worked with Danielle for the last 15 years.Then, she always sang other peoples songs. One day she said, "I've bought a guitar, and I've made up these chords, and I've just written a song". This is where I normally start looking for the fire exit!.. but Danielle is exceptional. The song was called 'We'll Be Fine"- a Danielle classic- and the following week she wrote three more!

We started recording them at my demo studio, fighting with my ageing Portastudio, and trying to layer 25 vocals, 5 guitars and a synthesized orchestra on to a 4-track cassette tape!

Well, now she has her own band, plays sell-out gigs wherever she goes, and we record virtually an unlimited number of tracks, with a real orchestra when she needs it. I'd like to say how well the old demos stand up... but that would be a complete lie!!

Dan's new album truly fantastic, and the group spent many late nights recording her new album - Launched at The Globe in Cardiff in Oct 09.

Breathe

This is a great album , and we had a ball recording her album 'Breathe'. She even let me sing drums on 'If I Could'.

Other stand out tracks include, 'Restless Eyes'-watch out for the wailing woman!, 'Move On'-love the viola solo (Dan sang me what she wanted note for note), 'Cowboys and Indians'-Steve can't resist wearing his cowboy hat for this one!, and the title track, 'Breathe', with it's sensuous backing vocals (thank you Julie).

My mate Robin, says his three favourite singers are Karen Carpenter, Gloria Estafan, and Danielle... 'Enough Said'.
